The only problem with this synth ( and with other 80's synthesizers ) , is programming sounds. The lack of dedicated knobs makes this work very tedious. Luckily you can edit the sounds via MIDI using a soft editor or a multi-purpose control surface.
On the video the synth is controlled by a Doepfer Drehbank
Knob tweaking an Oberheim Matrix6r
Text from the video :- Not so much a sound demo rather than a Doepfer Drehbank demo, just aimlessly turning knobs set to common parameters on the Matrix... Put in use it makes programming this synth a joy rather than a chore.
No matrix mods used except for mod wheel opening and closing the filter.

I've got an Oberheim Matrix 6 that I've had since it came out in the 80's. I've taken real good care of it and sometime in the 90's, I went to turn it on and no sound came out of it. It's been like that ever since and I've taken it to several friends with electronic experience to look at it, and they couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I sure would like to play it again! Thanks, James
