Korg - Electribe SX

Harlemnightsmusic uses the Korg Electribe SX to recreate some of the most well-known beats from the 80s that originally were made with the Roland TR-808

TR-808 Classic Beats on Electribe part 2

Text from the video :

• Part 2 of classic 80s beats which were originally made on a Roland TR-808 drummachine. Recreated on my Korg Electribe SX sampler / synthesizer. I overdubbed the session with some live synth & bass parts on my Juno 106 synthesizer (1984)

For the drums only 808 samples and the Electribe's internal effects were used. No actual records were sampled. All recreated by ear

SOS Band - Just be Good to Me (kick = LinnDrum)
  Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing
Loose Ends - Hangin' on a String
Klein & MBO - Dirty Talk
  My Mine - Hypnotic Tango
  Yazoo (Yaz) - Situation
  Yazoo - Don't Go
Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force - Planet Rock
2 Live Crew - Me so Horny
  Ice-T - Reckless

Synthesizer Performance with Native Instruments Maschine

Native Instrumentss Maschine in action

NI MASCHINE + Akai MPD32 + Ableton 7 Jam

Text from the video :

• This is one of the first jams with my new setup. NI Maschine is running as a AU Plugin in Ableton Live 7. All Drums come from Maschine and the 303 Bassline is done with the awesome D16 Phoscyon. There is no external FX used beside an EQ on the Master. If you want to get a real taste of how sweet this setup sounds, download the original video file here:

Ok.... ,this video is from Korg so everything on this synth is "amazing", "revolutionary" etc etc ... but despite this, it's a good overview of this workstation.
